Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
