Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
