In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
