He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and fearfully, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 lofty and pure, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 And We made corn grow, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
