Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
