Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 as black camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
