Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
