Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
