Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
