Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Those who disbelieve and turn (men) from the way of Allah, He rendereth their actions vain. 1 As for those who attained to faith and did righteous works and believed in what was revealed to Muhammad -- which indeed is the Truth from their Lord -- Allah has remitted their evil deeds and has set their condition right. 2 This, because they who are bent on denying the truth pursue falsehood, whereas they who have attained to faith pursue [but] the truth [that flows] from their Sustainer. In this way does God set forth unto man the parables of their true state. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition; 5 And will admit them into gardens with which he has acquainted them. 6 O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. 7 And (as for) those who disbelieve, for them is destruction and He has made their deeds ineffective. 8 they have hated God's revelation, and thus, He has made their deeds devoid of all virtue. 9 ۞ Have they not journeyed in the land and seen the fate of those before them? Destroyed they were utterly by God; and a similar (fate) awaits the unbelievers. 10 That is because God is the protector of the believers, and those who deny the truth have no protector at all. 11
