Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
