Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And those that strike violently, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
