The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
