The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
