The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
تشير بداية ونهاية كل سورة الى السور المنزلة قبلها و بعدها. يمكنك الضغط على أي منها للذهاب إليها.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there.
