The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 a fitting requital, 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
