The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
