The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
