The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then he mustered 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
