Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
