The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
