The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
