The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That "Go to Firaun - he has rebelled." 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
