The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
