The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
