The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
