The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
