The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
