By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
