The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
