The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And by those who float in space, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
