The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
