The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
