Al-Naze'aat 2 of 2
(People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established 27 He raised it high and leveled it, 28 And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. 29 And the earth He extended after that; 30 and then brought from it its water and pastures. 31 And He made fast the hills, 32 A provision for you and your cattle. 33 So when the greatest universal disaster arrives, 34 on the Day that man remembers what he strove for 35 and the blazing fire [of hell] will be laid open before all who [are destined to] see it. 36 then as for him who was insolent 37 And preferred the worldly life, 38 surely Hell shall be the refuge. 39 And for one who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from desire, 40 Verily the Garden! that shall be his resort. 41 They will question thee concerning the Hour, when it shall berth. 42 [But] how couldst thou tell anything about it, 43 To your Lord is its finality. 44 You are only a warner to him who has a fear of it. 45 The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning. 46

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
