The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
