He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and fears (Allah), 9 You neglect. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 Olives and dates, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
