He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 fruits, and grass. 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
