He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and righteous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
