He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And hath fear, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and pious. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and herbage 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 his mother, his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
