He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
