The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
