The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
