The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
