The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
