The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and brightening morning, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
