The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
