The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
