Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
