Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
