The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
