The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
